Feedback Fairies: Books and Voices Worth Sitting With

After writing this series, one thought keeps coming back to me.

Most organisations don’t suffer from a lack of feedback. They suffer from a lack of learning.

Surveys can reveal patterns. Conversations can create understanding. Actions are what ultimately make people believe that speaking up matters.

Here are a few fairies worth sitting with.

📚 Books

🎙️ Voices

🧰 Practices

Tools are not the answer, but they can help:

  • Employee surveys
  • Retrospectives
  • Team health checks
  • 1:1 conversations
  • Communities of practice
  • Open Space and World Café

A Final Reflection

The best organizations I have experienced were not the ones with the most sophisticated surveys.

They were the ones where people could speak openly, where leaders listened, and where something actually happened afterward.

Feedback matters.

But learning matters even more.

Fairies are not limited to books.

If you have a book, podcast, article, framework, workshop, or experience that has helped you create better feedback cultures, I’d be happy to include it in a future edition.

After all, good ideas are meant to be shared.
